Supporting Government Initiatives
The Victorian Government made a commitment to providing property transactions and information online in its 2002 Business Statement. Its aim is to provide online services across Government to cut paperwork, simplify reporting and provide rapid access to information for business. As part of its strategy, the $24 million Land Exchange project was launched to revolutionise the way land is bought and sold in Victoria and provide easy, online access to land information. The Office of the Chief Information Officer has identified the Land Exchange as a flagship e-government initiative that should deliver significant benefits to business and the community. The Land Exchange's component projects now also form part of various Government strategies and initiatives. Electronic Conveyancing is part of the Government's Putting People at the Centre initiative. SPEAR supports strategies such as Better Decisions Faster and Melbourne 2030. You can find further information on these by visiting their respective websites.
