What is Land Exchange?
Land Exchange is a $24 million Victorian Government funded program, that began in August 2002. Land Exchange is part of Land Victoria, a division of the Victorian Government's Department of Sustainability and Environment (DSE). Land Exchange will enable people to exchange land related information and conduct transactions via the Internet. Its projects are ground-breaking systems set to be Australian firsts in the area of electronic land dealings. Key Land Exchange projects include:
Land Exchange systems will run in parallel to conventional paper based land transactions and provide a secure online regulated environment for parties who choose to use the systems. Active stakeholder participation has been a key success factor in system development so that user needs are catered for.
